Book Themed Bridal Shower

I'm a firm believer in celebrating the people you love - birthday parties, baby showers, anniversary outings, bridal showers. I'm also a firm believer in noticing the gifts in our ordinary, every days - but when a special day comes around, how much greater the need to stop & see
Celebrations remind us of the gift each person in our lives is, and for this reason, I try to fill my life with lots of celebrations!
Last month I got to help throw a bridal shower for one of my oldest, kindest friends. Her wedding is this spring in an old bookstore in New York City so, naturally, we went with a book theme!  If you have an old book you are willing to cut up, the possibilities for decor are endless - napkin rings, flowers, heart banners, fruit skewers, cake toppers & more!
Once Upon a Time...
These sweet heart banners were so simple to make! I used my Cricut, but with a little more elbow grease, you could cut out a few dozen hearts and then simply string them together with a needle and thread.

The flowers, on the other hand, we never quite perfected. After a few failed attempts at following online tutorials, we finally landed on a method that mostly worked. These were the best of our attempts, made from a spiraled cutout and lots of hot glue.

We served a GF brunch - a yummy mix of fruit, quiche, lime-blueberry infused water, tea & a three-tiered Rice Krispy cake.

To make the lime-blueberry infused water, simply slice two limes and add with a cup of blueberries to a gallon or so of water. Chill for at least two hours. I make my infused water the night before an event so that there is plenty of time for infusing.
The beautiful guest of honor - Congratulations, Sarah!
